Indian ports are seeing a boom in intra-Asian calls as shipping companies expect continued growth in inbound and outbound trade.
PIL, Regional Container Lines (RCL) and Interasia Lines (IAL) have jointly launched a new route service linking China, Vietnam and India.
The order of port calls served by the joint route is: Ningbo, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Port Klang (West Port), Ho Chi Minh and Ningbo.
The companies will deploy a fleet of four container ships with an average capacity of 2,000TEU on the route, which is scheduled to make its debut in Ningbo on April 22.
New Delhi: Bilateral trade between India and China hit a new high in 2021, growing 43% year-on-year to $125.66 billion, according to relevant data. Of this, India's imports from China rose 46 percent to $97.5 billion, while exports to China rose 34 percent to $28.14 billion.
